MARCH 27, 2012 - Usual monthly meeting of Dillard-Judd Camp. Note the time -6PM. Our program for March will be given by Donald Jeter of Lewisburg. Don graduated from Tennessee Tech University in March, 1964 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked in the space program in Huntsville, Alabama for several years and then worked as plant engineer in private industry for the remainder of his career. He will discuss the origin of slavery on this continent and the extent to which the people in New England were involved in the slave trade and the importation of slaves. He points out that there were as many slaves in the north as there were in the South on the eve of the Revolutionary War. This will be a very informative program. We hope you will join us on Tuesday the 27th of March at the Putnam County Library at 6 p. m.

Charge to the Sons of Confederate Veterans:
"To you, Sons of Confederate Veterans, we submit the vindication of the Cause for which we fought; to your strength will be given the defense of the Confederate soldier's good name, the guardianship of his history, the emulation of his virtues, the perpetuation of those principles he loved and which made him glorious and which you also cherish. Remember, it is your duty to see that the true history of the South is presented to future generations."
