Forrest Park Ceremony

In a ceremony on the anniversary of General Forrest's victory at the Battle of Parker's Crossroads, December 31, 1862, N. B. Forrest Camp 215 members dedicated the new CS 1st National flag and cheered as it now flies on an 80 foot flagpole located just behind the Forrest Equestrian Statue in the park. A new Stars & Stripes flag was also raised reflecting General Forrest's belief that we are all Americans.

Forrest Camp 215 is ever vigilant in protecting the three Southern heritage parks in Memphis - Confederate Park, Forrest Park, and Jefferson Davis Park - and with our SCV brethren continues to lead the charge in preserving our memorials and history. The raising of the new Stars & Bars flag is our latest action in maintaining an active presence in the community.
