The  Civil War Research Center (CWRC) exists for the purpose of collecting material relating to all aspects of life in the area of Southeastern Middle Tennessee, While the usual emphasis of collections of Civil War materials is on military action, The CWRC also wishes to collect data about the impact of the war on families, churches and businesses.

Because our materials are stored and distributed electronically, the CWRC does not possess the originals of documents on this web site. All documents loaned to the CWRC are copied, a typescript produced for use on the web, and the original is returned to the owner.
