Historical Walking Tours
Historical walking tours are designed to be a refreshing and leisurely walk through historical places of the 1800’s in Shelby County. You visit with famous, not so famous, colorful and historic persons being portrayed by volunteer actors dressed in period attire and speaking in the first person. The walk is entertaining, exciting and provides information about our ancestors.
Memphis Pilgrimage
The Memphis Pilgrimage is a fascinating tour of period homes, Churches and business establishments built during the 1800’s. Many are not available for public viewing at any other time. Fascinating architectural designs and construction are interpreted by trained guides along with biographies of the builders and owners of these historic places. The Memphis Pilgrimage is open to the public.
Southern Heritage Ball
The Southern Heritage Ball is held in period style with all the regalia of the 1800’s. Period dances with authentic music take you back to amore genteel and elegant era. Period attire or formal dress required.
Living History
Educational teams are well informed and trained in public presentations. Instructional programs and performances are available to such groups as individual Schools or classrooms, School day performances, senior citizens groups, retirement facilities, re-enactments, theaters and local clubs and civic organizations. Programs include first person impressions of historical patriots along with documented instructional question and answers teaching. Visual hands-on displays encourage group participation.
West Tennessee Flag Memorial Project
